Marc S. Segal practices in all areas of intellectual property law including patent prosecution, litigation, and licensing. His technical expertise is in the biological sciences including matters that relate to molecular biology, biochemistry, and pharmaceuticals. He also has extensive experience in all phases of litigation concerning patents, copyrights, licensing disputes, trade secrets, and covenants not to compete. Mr. Segal's patent litigation experience includes matters involving a wide variety of technical areas including computer hardware and software, medical devices, drug delivery systems, and pharmaceutical products. Prior to joining Synnestvedt & Lechner LLP, Mr. Segal worked as a litigation associate at Dechert LLP where he was a member of the intellectual property litigation practice group. Prior to entering law school, Mr. Segal worked at SmithKline Beecham in the biopharmaceutical development department. Mr. Segal earned an undergraduate degree in biology from the Pennsylvania State University (B.S., with distinction, 1989), a graduate degree in biological sciences from Drexel University (M.S., 1994), and a law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School (J.D., magna cum laude, 1999). Mr. Segal is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the State of New Jersey, the District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the District for the State of New Jersey, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, and the Philadelphia Intellectual Property Law Association. Mr. Segal joined Synnestvedt & Lechner LLP as an associate in 2005 and became partner in 2008.
