Gary A. Hecht has experience in all fields of intellectual property law. He has extensive experience in litigation involving intellectual property issues, including matters related to patents, trademarks, copyrights and unfair competition. Mr. Hecht also specializes in preparing and prosecuting mechanical, electrical and computer-related patent applications. He counsels clients on intellectual property issues and has extensive experience in licensing, infringement, validity and due diligence studies. Mr. Hecht also manages international trademark portfolios for U.S. and foreign companies. Mr. Hecht presently serves on the Board of Governors for the Pennsylvania Intellectual Property Law Association, and has been an invited speaker at continuing legal education and professional association meetings, including the meeting of the combined Connecticut, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania Intellectual Property Law Associations. In recognition of his accomplishments, Mr. Hecht was recently selected as one of Pennsylvania's Super Lawyers. Prior to law school, Mr. Hecht was employed as an engineer in the pharmaceutical and petrochemical industries. He earned his under-graduate degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Delaware (B.M.E., 1980), and earned his law degree from Temple University School of Law (J.D., 1991). Mr. Hecht is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the State of New Jersey, the District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the District Court for the State of New Jersey, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Third and Federal Circuits and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is a member of the American, Pennsylvania and Montgomery County Bar Associations, as well as the American Intellectual Property Law Association and the International Trademark Association. Mr. Hecht joined Synnestvedt & Lechner LLP as an associate in 1996 and became a partner in 1998.
