Alexis Barron has extensive experience in all fields of patent law. He specializes in patent work relating to the chemical, pharmaceutical, and biochemical arts. Mr. Barron's work includes counseling clients on intellectual property matters, planning and managing U.S. and international patent programs, and negotiating and drafting licensing and other agreements that involve intellectual property rights. He has substantial expertise in conducting studies involving due diligence, patent validity, and freedom-to-operate and in the practice of international patent law. Mr. Barron has traveled throughout Europe and the Far East, where he lectured at the Patent Offices of the Chinese government in Hong Kong and Beijing. His experience in the chemical arts is wide-ranging and includes attention to developments involving polymer chemistry, organic and inorganic cleaning compositions and coating compositions, ceramic compositions, vinyl floor covering, pharmaceutical compositions, and waste treatment developments, including those involving the use of microorganisms.

Mr. Barron studied at Drexel Institute of Technology and The Pennsylvania State University (B.S. in Ch.E., 1960). He received his law degree from Temple University School of Law (LL.B., 1963).

Mr. Barron is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Mr. Barron is a member of the American and Philadelphia Intellectual Property Law Associations.

Mr. Barron joined Synnestvedt & Lechner LLP as an associate in 1965 and became a partner in 1968. He served the firm as its managing partner for over ten years.
