Dr. Mlynek earned an undergraduate degree in chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley (B.S., 1987), where he conducted research in bio-inorganic chemistry. He earned advanced degrees in Finance, Investment and Banking (M.B.A., 1993), in Inorganic Chemistry and Organometallics with a minor in analytical chemistry (Ph.D., 1996) from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, and his law degree from Rutgers University in Camden (J.D., 2006). Prior to joining Synnestvedt & Lechner LLP,Dr. Mlynek was employed in the intellectual property field in the chemical industry and by law firms where he worked on projects involving developmental strategies, product development, new invention identification and patent prosecution. Dr. Mlynek has authored articles that have been published in peer-reviewed journals including Organometallics and the Journal of Cluster Science. He has also authored numerous industry reports and presentations, and has received several corporate awards. Dr. Mlynek is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He was a president of the Southern New Jersey Section of the American Chemistry Society and the founder and a president of the Rutgers Intellectual Property Law Association on the Rutgers University Law School. Dr. Mlynek joined Synnestvedt & Lechner LLP in 2002 as a patent agent, and became an associate attorney in 2006.
