Perry M. Fonseca has extensive experience in patent prosecution, litigation, licensing, and opinions. Mr. Fonseca’s technical area of expertise is in electrical and computer-related devices, in which he gained over 17 years of experience as a computer software engineer for Fortune 500 companies, including Intel Corporation, Central Point Software, and Micropolis Corporation. Mr. Fonseca also has experience in the medical and chemical arts. His prosecution experience includes application drafting in areas of technology including medical devices, business methods, Internet, computer software, data security and encryption, video compression and decompression, electronics, telecommunications, electro-chemical devices, and mechanical devices. Mr. Fonseca earned his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Saint Louis University (B.A., 1982), with his senior project in the computer simulation of chemical reactions. He earned his certification in computer programming from the Computer Learning Center in Anaheim, CA (1984). He earned his law degree from Whittier Law School in Costa Mesa, CA (J.D., 1999). Mr. Fonseca has teaching experience at National University in Los Angeles, CA as a member of the adjunct faculty. He taught undergraduate and graduate-level computer science courses. Mr. Fonseca is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and is admitted to practice in California (1999), New York (2000), and New Jersey (2000). He is also admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States (2005). Prior to joining Synnestvedt & Lechner LLP, Mr. Fonseca practiced law privately at his law practice, Perry M. Fonseca & Associates, P.C. He has additional intellectual property law firm experience at Gibbons P.C., Lerner David Littenberg Krumholz & Mentlik, LLP, and Whitman Breed Abbott & Morgan. Mr. Fonseca joined Synnestvedt & Lechner LLP in 2008 in an Of Counsel position.
