Jimmie D. Johnson, Jr. specializes in intellectual property matters pertaining to specialty chemical, biochemical, material science, and textile arts. He has specific expertise in fluorocarbons, polymers, inks and dyes, electrolytes, fluorescent markers, biochemical reagents, siloxanes, laminates, nonwovens, and medical devices. He has extensive experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications and has represented clients before the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences. Prior to joining Synnestvedt & Lechner LLP, Mr. Johnson worked as an engineer for the Life Sciences Division of Day & Zimmermann in Philadelphia. As an engineer, he was involved in the design, maintenance, and testing of manufacturing equipment and facilities used for the production of pharmaceutics and biologics. He also has experience with FDA regulations relating to pharmaceutical manufacturing and new product introductions. Mr. Johnson earned his undergraduate degree in chemical engineering from Texas A&M University (B.S., 1993). He earned a graduate degree in business administration from Temple University's Fox School of Business (M.B.A., 2003), and a law degree from Temple University's Beasley School of Law (J.D., 2003). While in law school, he won the Robert C. Podwil Memorial Prize for excellent academic performance in the area of intellectual property law and the Lena L. Hale Award for outstanding extracurricular contributions. He was also a member of Temple's International & Comparative Law Journal and served as president of Temple's Intellectual Property Law Society for two years.
Mr. Johnson is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the State of New Jersey.
Mr. Johnson joined Synnestvedt & Lechner LLP as a law clerk in 2002 and became an associate attorney in 2003
